roots and routes.

Rooted in Alpine folk traditions and formally trained in classical music and improvisation, I embark on musical explorations through a range of projects. Along the way, I seek out new sonic landscapes and forms of expression that blend traditional roots with contemporary.

no string quartet

Together, the musicians devote themselves to a very special exploration of sound, shaped by their diverse yet deeply connected instruments and voices. The idea? To take a closer look at the concept of the “string quartet,” embracing the richness of its four-part texture and carrying it into new worlds of composition, arrangement, and collaborative performance. Genres are deliberately broken open — the ensemble’s music draws from classical and contemporary traditions, as well as folk, jazz, world music, and elements of improvisation. The result is a unique musical language and atmosphere all its own.

zoat

zoat is a velvety soundscape – a duo that turns worries into poetry. Blending vocal artistry, fervor, and touching honesty, these two artists invite you to truly listen. Their repertoire moves between bizarre poetry and minimalist sound experiments, capturing both the delight and dread of life. Social critique resonates throughout – often poignant, never preachy, and always without question marks.

Dreimäderlhaus

Dreimäderlhaus stands for Alpine folk music in its purest form. It means listening closely, tuning in to how the Alps can sound. Leaning back to the romantic sway of a waltz, being surprised by the sudden call of a yodel, and then feeling that familiar tingle in your legs when a lively polka begins.

in addition

In addition, I am a member of the Vienna Soundpainting Collective (viennasoundpainting.co) and involved in various other artistic projects. In my personal artistic and musical practice, photography also plays a significant role. I explore ways to combine sound and image in order to create new forms of expression at the intersection of both media.
